Once a villain in Montreal, Chris Kreider joins Habs ahead of training camp
LAVAL — Chris Kreider has skated onto the Bell Centre ice to a chorus of boos for most of his career.
That, he hopes, is about to change.
The veteran forward was introduced as a member of the Montreal Canadiens on Monday, two days after signing a one-year contract worth up to a reported US$5.4 million with bonuses to join the Original Six franchise.
“Pretty amazing, pretty iconic logo,” Kreider said as he walked to the podium with the Canadiens’ crest stitched on his chest at the team’s season-opening golf tournament.
