Football Alberta Weekly Top-10 Rankings

Here are the Weekly Top-10 Rankings for all five levels of high school football in Alberta for the 2026 season.

These rankings will come out every Sunday (except for Labour Day kickoff) from now up until November 9.

At that time, those will be the last rankings, and teams will take this rank into provincials.

The 12-a-side teams are slotted into their levels based on their estimated school size by School Sport Alberta, while the 9- and 6-a-side teams are one level only. Some re-sorting of 12-a-side levels will take place after the final official population numbers are recorded at the end of September.

Note: games vs. US opponents, scrimmages, or tournaments are not taken into consideration for ranking or listed in the overall record of the schools.

UPCOMING GAME(S) OF THE WEEK:

9-a-side #2 Wainwright Commandos at #1 Bonnyville Voyageurs 7:30 p.m., Saturday, October 3, Walsh Field (Bonnyville)

This game has been circled in Bonnyville ever since the completion of the last season, which saw these two teams meet in the Alberta Bowl Provincial Final. The game was one of the best game every played in Alberta Bowl history with the Voyageurs jumping out to an early lead only to see the Commandos claw their way back and take the lead in the waning moments of the game, aided by a controversial call on a reception that still is up for debate. The Commandos held on after that and won their first Provincial Championship since 1994, but the thrill and drama of that game has not dissipated, and it will be a hot ticket in Bonnyville this Saturday.
