Coy Robbins wins PBR Peace Country Invitational

Grande Prairie’s Bonnetts Energy Centre was packed to the rafters Saturday night (Sept. 26) for a sold out show of PBR Canada’s Peace Country Invitational.

With 24 bull riders, 12 eight-second rides were witnessed on the night, with 27-year-old Coy Robbins of Camrose, AB, placing first with two qualified rides.

Robbins scored 87.5 points from his first ride on “Burnt Ends” of Skori Bucking Bulls. He then scored 87.3 points on “Snoopy” of Skori Bucking Bulls to claim the Cup Series in Grande Prairie with 136 points and takes home a cool $11,100 in winnings.

Local cowboy, Jett Lambert of Grande Prairie, placed ninth after a 81.3 point ride on “Red Rust” from Vold Rodeo. He did not take home any prize money.
