Town of Valleyview considering increase to ATCO Electric municipal franchise fee

The Town of Valleyview is proposing to increase the ATCO Electric municipal franchise fee from 7 per cent to 8 per cent.

Effective Jan. 1, 2027, the average residential home would have their franchise fee increase from $9.58 to $10.94.

The proposal is subject to the Alberta Utilities Commission’s approval.

Residents with any concerns must submit them to the town in written form by Oct. 21.
