AHS rescinds local ED disruption

UPDATE:

AHS says coverage has been found for the Central Peace Health Complex ED from 10 a.m. until 7 p.m. today, and they have rescinded the advisory.

Due to a lack of physician availability and an inability to secure local coverage, there is no on-site physician today at the Central Peace Health Complex Emergency Department.

From 10:00 a.m. until 7:00 p.m. this evening (Friday, Oct. 9), 911 callers with medical emergency situations will be re-routed to neighbouring facilities.

Nursing staff will remain on-site to provide urgent triage and assessment and referrals for patients to alternate emergency departments.

The disruption may be cancelled if coverage is found.
