Emergency department disrptions scheduled for two Peace Region hospitals on Tuesday

Alberta Health Services says disruptions have been scheduled for two emergency departments in the Peace in the coming days. 

The department at the Beaverlodge Municipal Hospital will not have an on-site physician from 8 p.m. Tuesday, October 13, until 8 a.m. on Wednesday, October 14. 

The Virtual Emergency Physician will be in place for at least part of this time period. 

The department at the Fairview Health Complex will be without a doctor from 7 a.m. until 1 p.m. on Tuesday, October 13. 

AHS says the Virtual Emergency Physician program has expanded to Fairview and will be available for at least part of this time period. 

AHS also says that anyone with medical emergencies can still call 911 and that nurses will still be on site to do triage and assessments.
