An artist from Goodfare will have one of her watercolour paintings featured in an international showcase.

Mimi Zhang-Mackie’s piece called Piggyback will be part of the 86th Annual International Open Exhibition put on by the Northwest Watercolor Society.

Piggyback features a mom with a small child riding on her back. Zhang says in an email to EverythingGP that it celebrates “the universal bond of a mother and child.”

Zhang-Mackie also says that the painting is one of 75 that were picked for this exhibition out of 613 submissions from 23 countries.

A release from the Northwest Watercolor Society says Piggyback “stands as a technical tour de force and a radiant celebration of pure human connection. The artwork captures a joyous, intimate moment between a mother and child, rendered with an extraordinary depth of warmth and lifelike detail.”

The exhibit will open October 30 and continue through December 11.
