More visitors spent a record amount of money at Alberta Open Farm Days says province
The province says there was record attendance for this year’s edition of Alberta Open Farm Days.
The government says the 133 host farms for the 14th edition this year had 51,061 visits. Those visitors spent a record $422,940.
“The record spending we saw in 2026 demonstrates the value of connecting Albertans directly with local producers, while the strong number of visits shows there continues to be significant interest in experiencing agriculture firsthand,” says Alberta Association of Agricultural Societies CEO Tim Carson in a release from the province.
Of the visitors surveyed, the province says in the same release that “45% visited one farm while 47.5% visited between two and four farms. Thirty-nine per cent of visits involved two people, while 37.5% involved groups of three or more, including families.”
