City searching for women influencers

The City of Grande Prairie wants to recognize local women with the newly created Women of Influence Awards.

Angela Sutherland, Manager of Community Social Development says it important to celebrate the women who are making a difference.
 
“Grande Prairie has a lot of successful, diverse, and really strong women. I think it is really inspiring to have something like this that we can celebrate successes in our own community with local women.”

There are three categories for awards including Young Woman of Influence, Trailblazing Woman of Influence, and Distinguished Woman of Influence.

“Women that have used their influence to better our community or make an impact on others. They make a significant contribution to the social betterment to those that are around them.”
