Oct 25, 2018 | 4:51 PM

Drivers will be able to travel westbound downtown starting on Monday.

The city has confirmed that 100 Avenue between 100 and 102 Street will be open to traffic after months of construction.

There are still some finishing touches needed on the sidewalks, landscaping and electrical work, but the majority of the work on Phase 3 of the Downtown Rehabilitation Project is done.

“4,146 metres of storm, sanitary and water pipe have been replaced and upgraded throughout Phases 1, 2 and 3,”  said City Representative Monty Haughian.

Paving, line painting, and streetlight installation have also been completed.

If approved in the city budget, Phase 4 of construction would take place on 100 Avenue from 98 Street to 100 Street.  Work could start Spring 2019.

Bus Transit Routes 2 and 4 will also begin on Monday, October 29.
