Draft report on Old Fort landslide released soon

Oct 25, 2018 | 7:53 AM

A draft report from a geotechnical company looking into the landslide near Old Fort could be ready by Friday evening.

The landslide in northeastern British Columbia started September 30th and forced evacuations of a number of residences.

The report will identify hazards and risks of the site as well as if it is safe for residents to return and if so, under what conditions.

According to Peace River Regional District officials, once the draft report is ready, it will be passed on to an independent geotechnical firm for a peer review that can add additional recommendations if needed.

A legal review will also be conducted.
