Acadian church organist named 42nd lieutenant-governor of Prince Edward Island
CHARLOTTETOWN — An Acadian church organist will become Prince Edward Island’s next lieutenant-governor.
Antoinette Perry, a music and French teacher at Tignish Elementary School for more than three decades, was appointed to the role by Prime Minister Justin Trudeau on Thursday.
He says the proud Acadian and long-time active member of the Tignish community will work hard to promote the island in the vice-regal job.
Premier Wade MacLauchlan says Perry will serve the province with “grace and vigour” as the 42nd lieutenant-governor.
