RCMP lay charges following drug bust of over 1,100 pieces of fentanyl and more

On Friday, Grande Prairie RCMP executed search warrants at three separate locations in the Swan City and seized over 1,100 pieces of fentanyl and more.

The investigation involved multiple units including Grande Prairie RCMP Municipal Drug Section, Western Alberta District Crime Reduction Unit, Municipal Crime Reduction Unit, General Investigation Section and General Duty members with Police Dog Services.

The following items were seized as a result of the investigation:

  • 1150 individually wrapped pieces of fentanyl, totalling 164 grams
  • 28 grams of crack cocaine  
  • Approximately $41,000.00 in Canadian currency
  • A cash counter
  • An imitation firearm

29-year-old Jaspreet Singh Cheema, 26-year-old Ryan Dillyon Kinlock, 54-year-old Kenneth Stower, all from Calgary, Alberta and 27-year-old Vincent Mark Eversley-Anthony of Winnipeg, Manitoba all face the following charges:

  • Possession for the purpose of trafficking Fentanyl
  • Possession for the purpose of trafficking Cocaine
  • Possession of property obtained by crime

Charges are now before a court.  

Grande Prairie RCMP says it’s, “committed to increasing community safety by using a crime reduction strategy that focuses on identifying repeat offenders, gathering intelligence, and conducting enforcement initiatives”.
