Storm send Smyth to Battleford for Jared Power

The Grande Prairie Storm bolstered their offence even more on Tuesday as they swung a deal with the Saskatchewan Junior Hockey League’s Battleford North Stars.

The Storm sent 19-year-old forward Parker Smyth and Future Considerations to the Stars for 19-year-old forward Jared Power.

Smyth spent parts of two seasons with the Storm, and was acquired from the Spruce Grove Saints last season.

Power split time with the Bonnyville Pontiacs and the Olds Grizzlies in the 2016-2017 season, where he racked up 21 goals and 13 assists.

In just 14 games played this season with the Olds Grizzlies this year, Power racked up 8 goals and 3 assists.

He was traded from Olds to the Battleford North Stars on January 4th.

The inter-league trade deadline is set for 7:00 p.m. and trades can still happen within the league until 11:30 p.m.

The Storm will return to the ice on Friday in Fort McMurray.
