Parking lot Canada Day BBQ today at Oliver’s Funeral Home

Jun 29, 2018 | 11:10 AM

A Canada Day celebration BBQ is happening a couple of days early at Oliver’s Funeral Home.

“Grande Prairie has a lot of things happening on Sunday so we didn’t want to overlap with anything,” said Liesa Peters, Community Relations for Oliver’s Funeral Home.  “Definitely celebrating the great country we live in and in order to do that we also want to show support to different organizations in our community.”

This year they will be accepting donations for Fight for Hope, which is a local charity that supports Ronald McDonald House in Edmonton and the Kids with Cancer Society.

“It is our way of showing families in our community and surrounding area that we are here for them and supporting them through their battle.”

There will be hamburgers and hot dogs on the menu and no shortage of fun with a face painter, children’s tattoos, lawn games, bouncy castles and a performance by local artist Brad Sims.

The BBQ is happening from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. at Oliver’s parking lot.  Please bring a lawn chair.
