“Critical Condition” premiere moved due to high demand
An overwhelming amount of community interest has caused the relocation of the Critical Condition opioid awareness event tomorrow.
Critical Condition is a video series that highlights how the opioid crisis is affecting Grande Prairie.
The City’s Manager of the Community Social Development Deparment Angela Sutherland explains the project received a lot more interest than expected.
“It has definitely been overwhelming,” says Sutherland. “We didn’t anticipate such a huge response, so it’s been amazing to garner that interest – which is why we had to make the change of venue to the GPRC Douglas J. Cardinal Performing Arts Centre.”
Sutherland says the original venue held about 165 people, but the Performing Arts Centre holds much more. She says residents can still pre-register for the event.
“The college holds up to, I believe, 500 people. We could still facilitate the registration of the tickets, they are free, but we like to track the numbers.”
The premiere kicks off on Tuesday at seven in the evening and doors open at 6:30.
