Extreme Cold replaces Snowfall warnings for Peace region

The snowfall warning has ended for the Grande Prairie, Beaverlodge and Valleyview areas, but the region is now under an extreme cold warning, along with the rest of Northern Alberta. 

Wind chill values could reach -40 to -45 throughout Saturday and into Sunday.

The B-C Peace is also under an Extreme Cold warning, while a snowfall warning remains in place for the Slave Lake region.

A total of 7.2 cm of snowfall recorded on Friday at Grande Prairie Airport, breaking the previous February 1st record of 5.1 cm set back in 1974.

14.6 cm of snow has been recorded in the city since the storm began on Thursday.
