Record rainfall dampens downtown construction
Downtown construction continues after a few days of record rainfall last week.
City Representative for the Downtown Rehabilitation and Streetscapes Project Monty Haughian says the wet weather didn’t go unnoticed.
“The weather last weekend definitely impacted so much. The Alberta Summer Games, Street Performers Festival, and work on 100 Avenue. It did impact the schedule but Wapiti (Gravel Suppliers) are working hard to catch up on what they’ve lost in that time,” said Haughian.
A one lane closure southbound at 100 Street between 99 and 101 Avenues began on Thursday and is set to last approximately a week. Minor traffic delays can be expected while work continues.
