Two men arrested after gun, drugs, and cash seized

Grande Prairie RCMP has arrested two men after a handgun, drugs, and cash was seized during the search of a home. 

On February 28, the RCMP, General Investigation Section, and Police dog Services executed a search warrant that turned up 477 grams of methamphetamine, 37 grams of cocaine, a handgun, magazines with ammunition, over $2000 in Canadian cash, and two sets of body armour.

Twenty-eight-year-old Bile Hassan of Grande Prairie and 23-year-old Anas Mujber of Edmonton were arrested at the home following the search and are facing multiple charges: 
 

  •          Possession for the purpose of trafficking x 2
  •          Possession of proceeds of crime
  •          Careless storage of a prohibited device x 2
  •          Careless storage of a firearm
  •          Unauthorized possession of a firearm
  •          Unauthorized possession of a prohibited firearm
  •          Possession of firearm knowing its possession is unauthorized
  •          Possession of a prohibited firearm with ammunition
  •          Tampering with a serial number
  •          Possess body armour without permit x 2 (Section 22(1) Body Armour Control Act)
     

On top of those charges, Hassan is also facing four counts of Breach of Recognizance while Mujber is facing five counts of the same charge. 

The two remain in police custody and are set to appear in court on Monday, March 5, 2018. 

“Grande Prairie RCMP is committed to increasing community safety by using a crime reduction strategy that focuses on identifying repeat offenders, gathering intelligence and conducting enforcement initiatives,” said RCMP in a media release.
