Stay of proceedings in manslaughter case

A stay of proceedings is in place in a Grande Prairie manslaughter case.
Barbara Wright had been charged after a May 2016 incident that led to the death of Sherra Eckert.
Eckert had told police she had been attacked by a tenant. She died two days later.
A stay means the crown has one year to come up with more evidence, or the case is dismissed.
