City says crews prepared for snow

Mar 1, 2018 | 1:25 PM

City crews are preparing for snow after Environment Canada predicted between 10 to 20-centimetres would fall in the Grande Prairie area by Saturday.

With high winds forecasted as well, there is a chance that snow drifts may form. If the snow does come, city crews will shift their focus back to priority one roads.

Right now, crews are working on residential areas’ snow piles and windrows. They are also working on sanding roads, creating better sightlines for intersections, and keeping the drainage network ready for when the snow melts.
