Quebec cops involved after 14-year-old hockey player allegedly assaults referee
RIVIERE-DU-LOUP, Que. — Quebec provincial police are investigating after a bantam-age hockey player allegedly assaulted a referee with his stick.
The incident allegedly occurred Thursday evening in Riviere-du-Loup, northeast of Quebec City.
Alleged victim Benjamin Paradis complained to police about the injuries to his neck.
Radio-Canada quoted Paradis as saying the 14-year-old apologized to him in the presence of police officers after the game.
