More local students than ever support Pink Shirt Day

Feb 27, 2018 | 4:30 AM

Tomorrow is Pink Shirt Day, a day when everyone is encouraged to wear pink and take a stand against bullying.

Crime Prevention is selling pink shirts with proceeds going toward anti-bullying initiatives in our community.

Cheryl George, Public Education Events Coordinator for Crime Prevention says on Wednesday everyone is encouraged to wear their pink shirt, take a selfie with classmates,  coworkers or friends, and post it to social media using the hashtag #PinkItForward or #PinkShirtDay.

She says there are even more schools involved this year than in the past, as well as city departments and different organizations like Odyssey House and Sunrise House.

If you’re wanting to purchase a pink shirt, call Crime Prevention at 780-882-7813 or stop by their office City on 99.

Shirts are $20 for adults and $10 for youth.  They accept cash only.
