Fraser Institute releases yearly Alberta high school ratings

One Peace region school is among the 10 fastest improving high schools in the province, according to the Fraser Institute’s annual report card on Alberta high schools. 
 
Grimshaw High School was ranked in a tie for 112th place for the 2016-17 school year, an improvement of 54 spots from the previous year. 
 
Glenmary in Peace River was the highest rated school in the Peace region, coming in at 111th out of 262 schools rated on eight academic indicators generated from Grade 12 provincewide testing, grade-to-grade transition and graduation rates. 
 
As for Grande Prairie areas schools – Sexsmith was tied for 139th,  Peace Wapiti Academy came in at 156, Spirit River was ranked 178th, while St Joe’s and Charles Spencer were tied for 215th.
 
 Hillside in Valleyview was tied for 222nd, while Grande Prairie Composite was ranked tied for 229th.
 
Beaverlodge came in at 240th on the rankings, while St. John Bosco in Grande Prairie was 258th.
