Record-breaking Folk Fest

Aug 20, 2018 | 6:36 AM

The annual Bear Creek Folk Festival wrapped up Sunday at Muskoseepi Park.

The festival’s Sarah Card says it was a record-breaking event.

“This year was great attendance, our Saturday day passes sold out which is fantastic and overall this is hands down a record-breaking year for us.”

This was the third year for the folk fest in the city.

“We are seeing just a lot more community enthusiasm, community awareness, we’ve seen people from all over Alberta and western Canada and even around the world attending the event. We’ve been running into people coming in from all over the place and that is a lot of fun too, this has really become a destination festival,” says Card.

The event saw four stages with 35 artists perform Friday, Saturday and Sunday.
