Okabe named to NHL Central Scouting’s Watch List

Grande Prairie Storm forward Zachary Okabe continues to turn heads.

The 17-year-old from Calgary Alberta was recently named to the NHL Central Scouting’s Players to Watch List.

Okabe is ranked as a “C” prospect, which indicates Okabe is most likely to be selected in either the 4th, 5th, or 6th round in the 2019 NHL Draft.

Okabe was named AJHL Rookie of the Year in the 2017-2018 season and has had a strong start to his 2nd year in the league.

Through 8 games, the 17-year-old has 7 goals and 3 assists.

Okabe will look to add to those numbers when the Storm host the Calgary Mustangs and Olds Grizzlys this weekend.
