Peace region schools pick up medals at volleyball provincials

Several Peace region schools took home medals as volleyball provincials wrapped up on Saturday. 

Peace Wapiti Academy took silver at both the 3A boys and girls tournaments. 

The boys from PWA lost to Barrhead in two straight in the final in Rocky Mountain House, while the girls lost to Cochrane in two straight in the final in Beaverlodge. 

St. Joe’s took bronze at the 3A girls tournament after beating Edmonton Christian in the 3rd place game. 

Charles Spencer girls won bronze on their home court at the 4A provincials, beating Jasper Place 3 games to 2 in the bronze game. 

Lindsay Thurber beat Western Canada in the 4A girls gold medal game, while Jasper Place defeated Western Canada in the 4A boys gold medal game. 

St Joe’s finished 6th at the 4A boys tournament while host Charles Spencer finished 10th.

Peace River won bronze at the 2A girls in Camrose, while St Thomas More from Fairview took bronze at 1A girls in Bassano.
