Arthur Gorden William Woodford (better known as Bill Woodford) was born October 11, 1927, in Coronation Alberta. He passed away August 3, 2021, in Grande Prairie AB, at the age of 93.
Bill and his wife Margaret farmed in Rose Prairie BC from 1967 to 1995 and then moved to Kimberley to enjoy their retirement.
Bill enjoyed reading for knowledge and working in his wood working shop in his basement. He wasn’t afraid to try fixing almost anything. Early in his career he worked on the Alaska Highway and lived in a camp. He married Margaret Giesbrecht in June 1967, and they were able to celebrate their 50th wedding anniversary before Margaret suddenly passed away in December 2017 of cancer.
Bill is survived by his daughter Deborah Ann Plett (husband Graham Plett) and grandkids Nicholas (27 and married to Stephanie), Mitchel (25), Annika (23), Jonas (18), and Ellis (9); daughter Julie Diane Kaethler (husband Philip Kaethler) and grandkids Ethan (25 and married to Bobbie-Lynn) and Aidan (23 and married to Caitlin); his sisters Joan and Faye, and brothers Ronnie and Harold.
He was predeceased by his wife Margaret (2017), and daughter Marlene Alice Woodford (Born June 20th, 1968 – Died June 20th, 1968).
A Graveside service will be held at the Kimberley Cemetery on Monday August 16, 2021, at 11am.
