Rodrigo “Reggie” Aspacio Bancale, resident of Grande Prairie, AB, passed away on Tuesday, May 12, 2020, at Prairie Lake Hospice in Grande Prairie, at the age of 43 years.
Reggie was born in Cebu City, Philippines on June 15, 1976. He was the second child of Jimmy and Josie Bancale. He spent most of his childhood years growing up between Labangon and Pardo. He graduated from high school at the University of San Jose – Recoletos, and then took electronics engineering in college at Cebu Institute of Technology. For ten years he worked at Metro-Cebu Community Hospital, where he worked in the dietary department and later met his wife Jingkay.
Growing up, Reggie loved playing the guitar. He learned by watching and listening to the neighbours play. He inspired all three of his brothers as well. Sometimes their mother got tired of hearing guitar riffs and solos echoing in the house. You would seldom see Reggie hang out with friends without taking his guitar.
Reggie was a generous soul. He would give the shirt off his back if needed. He was always making sure his family was taken care of.
He will be sorely missed by his wife Jingkay; siblings: Suzanne, Sheryl, Lilibeth, Geraldine, Roderick, Rodel, Roy, and Alexander; mother Josephine; nieces and nephews: Maddie, Emma, Jacob, Kate, Julia, Jeremy, Ethan, Aries, Tristan, and Gavin; as well as numerous relatives and friends. He will live forever in their hearts.
He was predeceased by his older sister Janet, and his father Jimmy.
Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, a private family Celebration of Life will be held.
Memorial donations may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society (700 – 10665 Jasper Ave., Edmonton, AB, T5J 3S9).
