It is with great sadness we announce the sudden passing of Ronald Carnohan, beloved husband, father, grandfather and friend, on Tuesday, August 27, 2019, at the age of 73 years.
Ron was born June 16, 1946 in Edmonton, AB. He led an interesting and diverse life, living each day on his terms. He spent most of his adult life in the oil patch, owning and operating oilfield construction companies and heavy trucks and trailers.
He was well known for always being ready for a challenge. He loved the game of hockey and played goal for many teams, always playing for keeps. Ron later raised a herd of bison, a passion that he enjoyed every day. Ron loved nature and had a particular soft spot for animals. He spent many hours taking photos, or just sitting quietly enjoying all their beauty.
Ron is survived by his wife and partner Shirley Anne Carnohan; daughter Kim Nugent; son Vern Carnohan; step-daughter Nikki (Dave) Nyland; step-son Mark (Kathryn) Gass; grandchildren: Alexandria, Katelyn, Noah, Megan, Carter, Riley, Cooper, and Sawyer; sister Sheila Linfield and nephews David Linfield and Phil Linfield.
He was predeceased by his parents Andrew and Hessie Carnohan and son in-law Dave Nugent.
A Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, October 26, 2019, at 2:00pm, at Webster Community Hall in Webster, AB.
We will hold him in our hearts forever and miss him each and every day.
Memorial donations may be made to Bandaged Paws Animal Rescue Association (9920 91 Ave., Grande Prairie, AB, T8V 0G3).
