Carol Dianne Podulsky
December 28, 1946 – April 10, 2026
A Life Full of Love, Laughter & Memories
Dianne passed away peacefully on April 10, 2026, in Red Deer, Alberta, with her children by her side. While saying goodbye is never easy, we are grateful for the life she lived, the memories she created, and the love she leaves behind.
Carol Dianne Podulsky (née Bekkerus) was born in Sexsmith, Alberta, on December 28, 1946, to Lloyd and Agnes Bekkerus.
For 60 years, Dianne shared her life with her husband, Myron. Together, they raised their children, Beverly and Kenny, and built a life filled with memories, laughter, challenges, and the everyday moments that eventually became the ones that mattered most.
Dianne was a woman who cared in her own way. She believed in helping when she could, looking after those she loved, and making sure the people around her were taken care of. She had her own personality, her own opinions, and a way of doing things that was uniquely hers. Those who knew her best will remember her kindness, her humor, her determination, and the unmistakable character that made her Dianne.
She was proud of her family and her Norwegian roots, and she had a special place in her heart for children and animals. She also loved sports, and when it came to hockey, she was a devoted Calgary Flames fan. She never missed a game! Whether cheering on the Flames or sharing in the excitement of a close match, sports were another part of the personality and everyday life her family will fondly remember.
The Best Way to Remember Mom
Remember Mom when you smell something baking, when a child makes you smile, when an animal needs a little extra love, or when someone needs a helping hand.
Remember her kitchen, her cooking, her laughter, her humor, and yes, her stubbornness. Remember the family gatherings, the full plates, the stories told over coffee, and the people who always seemed to find their way through her door. And when the Calgary Flames take to the ice, think of Mom cheering them on, never wanting to miss a minute.
Don’t remember her only in the sadness of saying goodbye. Remember her in the things she taught us, the habits we picked up, the stories we’ll keep telling, and the pieces of her that live on in each of us.
That is how we keep Mom close—not just in our memories, but in the way we live.
Dianne will be lovingly remembered by her husband, Myron; her daughter, Beverly Podulsky; her son, Kenny Podulsky; her grandson, Kyle Podulsky; her niece, Melody Vavrek (Michael); her nephew, Ricky Bekkerus (Des); her sisters-in-law, Roseann (Harry) Hipkiss and Judy Bekkerus; and many other cherished family members and friends, including her great-nieces and great-nephews.
She was predeceased by her mother, Agnes; her father, Lloyd; her brother, Wayne; and her grandson, Greg.
