It is with heavy hearts that we announce the sudden and unexpected passing of Darwin Lawrence Clegg of Crooked Creek, AB on March 2, 2022 at the age of 49 years.
Darwin was born April 12, 1972 at the Grande Prairie Hospital to Ena-May and Larry Clegg. He grew up on the family ranch south of Crooked Creek and resided in the area most of his life. He had a lifetime love of the outdoors; spending countless hours riverboating, hunting and trapping. His work life started as a heavy equipment operator which transitioned into oilfield construction supervisor with Shell Canada and finally field supervisor with Hammerhead Resources Inc. With his ultimate aspiration being to cattle ranch full time.
Darwin will be lovingly remembered by his spouse and best friend of 22 years Keely Flaherty and his two children Brodie and Rilyn Clegg.
He is survived by his parents Larry and Ena-May Clegg of Crooked Creek, AB; sister Terri Clegg of Grande Prairie and numerous aunts, uncles, cousins and close friends.
Darwin was predeceased by both sets of Grandparents; Tom and Anna Clegg of Clarkson Valley, AB as well as George and Gwendolyn Morrison of Goodwin, AB.
A celebration of life of life will be held Saturday, March 12, 2022 at 2pm at the DeBolt Community Centre in DeBolt, AB.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation of Canada.
