We are deeply saddened to announce the passing of our dearly loved Norman Drake Bruce on September 27, 2020 at the age of 20 years.
Born December 15, 1999 at 11:11am in Grande Prairie, Alberta. Drake was a loving, gentle, funny soul. He had a huge heart and felt deeply. He loved his family most of all. His family and anyone who met him, loved him. He had a wonderful soul, amazing fashion sense and a deep love of family and friends. He loved playing hockey and was a favorite to watch play. Big hits – Big heart. He enjoyed a good boxing match.
He was strong in body and spirit. There will be a huge hole in our families and friends’ hearts. Taken too soon. Drake you are greatly loved and will be lovingly remembered. Saying we love you just doesn’t feel like enough. You are forever in our hearts.
Drake is survived by his mother Jennifer Lee Bruce, father Norman Chase Smith, grandparents Shelly (John) Vandepol and Connie Smith (Eric Moses), Norman and Virginia Apsassin, his siblings Kael and Zachary Bruce, along with his aunties Amanda Smith, Rae-ann Smith, Kyla Apsassin, Krystal, Oker, Tashina Williams, Toni Vandepol, Theresa Vandepol, Sari Bilodeau (Mike Bilodeau) and Misty-rain Apsassin, followed by his uncles Tyler Aspassin, Dustin Apsassin, Grandma Virginia, Kane Bruce (Dianne Horseman), Taylor Vandepol as well as many other uncles, aunties and cousins.
He was pre-deceased by great grandparents Judy Olson and Hilda (Leonard) Cummings, great-grandfathers Bill Bruce, and his cousin Colby Smith.
A wake will be held starting at 7pm Sunday October 4, 2020 at Bear Creek Funeral Home. A funeral service will be held on Monday, October 5th at 1pm at Bear Creek Funeral Home (11802 99 Avenue in Grande Prairie). Limit 90 guests due to COVID-19 restrictions.
