Wade Freeman, resident of Grande Prairie, AB, formerly of Westlock, AB, passed away on Wednesday, December 20, 2023, at home, at the age of 51 years.

Wade was born in Fernie, BC, on July 9, 1972, to Pat and Violet Freeman.

Wade grew up in Grande Prairie with his mom, sister, and many aunts, uncles, and cousins.

Wade had a brightness to him as a child. He enjoyed being outdoors from sunup to sundown. He loved his family with all his heart and was so proud of his children.

Wade lived hard, worked hard, and loved hard. He took pride in his work and did everything in his power to provide the best service, no matter the job. He worked on basements as a teen, moving onto service rigs in his younger years, and transitioned to driving truck later in his life, still working in the Oil Patch.

Wade touched many lives during his time, and he will be missed by his wife Shawna Mayne; children: Hailey and Zachery Freeman, Kalten Perkes, Tanner Freeman, and Taylor Allan; mother Violet (Richard); sister Michelle (Denny); step-sisters: Anuk and Katou, step-brother Sylvain; nieces: Sierra and Faith; as well as many aunts, uncles, and cousins.

Wade was predeceased by his father Pat Freeman, and grandparents: Roddy and Ida Moberly, and Winifred Freeman.

A Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, January 6, 2024, at 2:00 pm, at Oliver’s Funeral Home (10005 107 Ave.), in Grande Prairie.
