Gordon Metcalfe Ingledew was born on September 24, 1948 in Beaverlodge and passed away peacefully with family by his side at the Care Centre on November 17, 2020.
Gordon grew up in the Hinton Trail area and went to school in Elmworth and Beaverlodge. He was very proud for his first job at 16, building the Elevator in Dawson Creek. After this, he went on to start his profession in plumbing. A few years later he found his true calling as a truck driver. He travelled all the way from the Arctic Ocean to the Texas border. This was his passion until a work accident that led him into early retirement. His favorite pastime was horses, baseball, camping, quadding, putzing around the acreage, and spending time with family.
He will be missed by his wife of 47 years Edna, daughter Tracy, son Gordon, granddaughters Jessica (Ryan Matthews) and Natasha, sister Louise, brothers Tom and Bob, brother-in-law Jim (Diane) Lofstrom, nieces Judy, Kathy (Craig), Sheri (Murray) and his nephew Micheal (Jesse).
He was pre-deceased by his parents George and Sadie Ingledew, in-laws Alphons and Lois Lofstrom and his brother-in-law Jim Frame.
A special thanks to the staff at the Grande Prairie Care Centre and to Dr. Brad Martin.
