August 7, 1938 – October 28, 2021
With heavy hearts we announce the sudden passing of Gus Roose in Grande Prairie with his family at his side.
Born to Ted (Theodore Arnold) Roose and Muriel Leone Roose (Anderson) in Camrose, Alberta where he grew up on the family farm with his two younger brothers Pat and Tim. After which he attended Lakeland College as well as SAIT to study agriculture. In 1962 he settled on his homestead with his new family in the Fourth Creek Community of the Mighty Peace Country. This is where they remained until 2012 when they retired to Spirit River.
During his life he enjoyed fishing, camping, woodworking, log trucking, fastball, golf, curling, travelling, gardening, cooking, family time and many other of life’s pleasures. He was always happy to entertain guests with candid conversation and meal creations.
Gus will be sadly missed by many.
Gus is survived by his loving wife of 58 years Connie Roose, Son Richard (Maryanne), Son Shawn (Margaret), Brother Timothy Roose (Gayle), Grand Children John Michael, Richard Jr., Raquel, Emily, Mariah, Great Grand Children Violet and Billie
Gus is Pre-deceased by his parents Ted & Muriel Roose and brother Patrick Roose.
Due to current restrictions there will be a private service on Friday November 5 2021 6:30 PM at Bear Creek Funeral Home 11802 99 Avenue, Grande Prairie, and will be live streamed on YouTube for all to view.
There will be a celebration of life with close friends and family to follow, 8 PM at Jackpot Grill – 10904 92 Ave. Grande Prairie
In lieu of flowers donations can be made to the Spirit River Seniors Center AKA The Happy Hour Club or the Grande Spirit Foundation 9503 102 Avenue Grande Prairie AB T8V 7G9
