In Loving Memory of Our Mom
Chantal Marie Claire Elisabeth Fraysse (née Pestour)
March 18, 1946 – August 09, 2026
80 years young

With heavy hearts, we announce the passing of our beloved mom, Chantal Fraysse, at Grande Prairie Hospital in the early morning of August 09, 2026, after a long, valiant, and gracious fight with Alzheimer’s disease.
Mom wore many hats throughout her life, and she wore each one with unmistakable style and grace. Her green thumb filled our home with lush plants and vibrant flowers, especially her cherished African violets. She was a master chef and baker, known far and wide for her delicious breads and her famous homemade Kahlua. Her hands were rarely still — she knitted, crocheted, and created intricate bedspreads for friends and family, each one a lasting memory woven with love.
Over the years, Mom babysat many children and cared for each of them dearly. She welcomed everyone who walked through our door with warmth, acceptance, and not a hint of judgment. She was an astonishing mother and wife — tender, honest, and unwavering in her devotion. A true domestic goddess, she gave us shelter, comfort, and peace freely and without expectation.
Even as Alzheimer’s took hold, her radiant smile, easy laughter, and inherent sweetness remained. Those core traits — her gentleness, her joy, her kindness — endured until the very end.
Our sweet mom, we will miss you deeply. We will carry you in our hearts and minds forever and always.
She leaves behind her husband of 61 years, Raymond Fraysse, who said of her, “Elle m’a rendu la vie facile.” Translation: She made my life easy. Truer words have never been spoken.
She is also survived by her siblings: Bernard Pestour, France, Bernadette (Jean-Claude) Chauffour, France, and Jean-François (Christine) Pestour, France. Her children and grandchildren: son Bruno (Isabelle Soulie) Fraysse and her grandchildren Jérémy and Chloé, France, daughter Véronique Fraysse, Calgary, Canada, daughter Dominique Fraysse and grandchildren Christophe and Jessie, Grande Prairie, Canada, and daughter Fabienne (Cory) Fraysse Vandemark and grandchild Logan, Grande Prairie, Canada.
Chantal is predeceased by her parents Marcel and Jeanne Pestour, and her brother Pierre Pestour.
