Jose Luis Joa, resident of Grande Prairie, AB, formerly of Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic, passed away Thursday, July 26, 2018, at Points West Hospice, at the age of 63 years.
Jose was born September 19, 1954. He was raised in the Dominican Republic and came to Canada in 1976. He worked as a baker in the Prairie Mall IGA, Southside IGA, Co-op Market Place, and Real Canadian Superstore.
He will be sadly missed by his sister Luisa (Guy) Lee, nephews: Eddie Lee, and James (Erin) Lee; nieces Rebecca (Shaun) Reiger and their son Logan, and Casandra (Colin) Lee, as well as many other relatives and friends.
He was predeceased by his father Luis Joa in 1958 and mother Catalina (nee Chong) in 2010.
Prayers will be held on Thursday, August 2, 2018 at 5:00pm, at Oliver’s Funeral Home in Grande Prairie (10005 107 Ave.).
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Friday, August 3, 2018, at 1:00pm, at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Grande Prairie (10404 102 St.)
