December 18, 1962 – November 8, 2021

 

The family of John Ralph Antaya announces his passing on November 8, 2021 in Grande Prairie, Alberta at the age of 58 years.

 

Born the 6^th child to Helen Bodnarchuk and William Henry Antaya in Shellbrook, Saskatchewan, John grew up in Fort McPherson and Inuvik Northwest Territories. He moved to Grande Prairie in 1983 and has lived here for many years and has worked in security, trucking and maintenance at Big Rig Collision.

 

John was well known for his sense of humour, intelligent and informed conversation and his kind, empathetic and helpful nature. We could always count on him to help in every family event or emergency or whenever we needed a sympathetic, sensible person to talk to. Many in the family and community are aware of just what a kind person he was. He was deeply loved and appreciated by many people and will be sorely missed. It will be very hard to say goodbye and farewell to our Brother and Friend.

 

Beloved brother of Steven (Monique) Chrys (Jeff), Catherine, Joseph and William (Nancy) Antaya and uncle of Charlene (Christopher) Gaboury, Carl Antaya and Sarah Antaya.
