James Paul Kruchten, resident of Grande Prairie, AB, passed away on Friday, August 16, 2024, at 11:00 am, at the University of Alberta Hospital, in Edmonton, AB, at the age of 83 years.
James was born March 18, 1941, in Fairview, AB and grew up on the farm in Bluesky, AB. He was known to all as “Jim”. He was the foreman at Canfor Plywood, a truck driver, and an equipment operator for the City of Grande Prairie.
Jim cared for his mother faithfully, sharing a home with her until her passing. He was a man of faith, reflective, wise with money, charitable, a jokester, a storyteller, and the family history buff. He enjoyed politics, the stock market, any and all sports, keeping up with the news, and caring for the kitty. Jim loved his family and was dearly loved by them.
He will be sadly missed by his brother Tom, sister Bertha, brothers-in-law Garry and Jerome, sister-in-law Denise, many beloved nieces and nephews, coffee buddies, fellow workers, and many other friends.
Jim was predeceased by his parents Dena and Lewis; brothers: John, Henry, Danny, and Walter; and sisters: Pauline, Elizabeth, Agnes, and Margaret.
Prayers and Words of Remembrance will be held on Saturday, August 24, 2024, at 10:30 am, at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Grande Prairie (10404 102 St.).
Funeral Mass will follow at 11:00 am with a luncheon to follow. Interment will be held at 1:30 pm, at Grande Prairie Cemetery (84th Ave. & 112th St.).
