Glen Melvin Locke, resident of Grande Prairie, formerly of Southern Arm, NL, passed away on Monday, June 17, 2019, at QEII Hospital at the age of 67 years.
Glen was born April 14, 1952 in Southern Arm, NL, and was raised in Beachside. He was a Sergeant in the Canadian Armed Forces while living in Halifax, NS in the 1980’s and a driving instructor for the Newfoundland Safety Council while living in Grand Falls, NL in the 1990’s. Glen then began a 20 year career as a professional driver with his wife Annie and they traveled most of North America together.
Glen was a devoted family man who took pride in providing for his family and supporting their goals. His sense of humour and kind heart touched the lives of all who knew him.
He was an avid hunter, fisherman, and outdoor enthusiast. He enjoyed reading and had an unwavering thirst for knowledge. During his retirement, Glen found joy in the company of his furry companions: Bella, Neuf, Noodle, and Gypsy.
Glen will be sadly missed by his loving and devoted wife of 42 years Annie; daughter Annalee; grandchildren Savannah (Seth), and Brooklynn Wilson; siblings: Debra Verge, David (Selma) Locke, Barbara (Francis) Henstridge, Wallace Verge, and Lester Locke, as well a large circle of friends and family.
He was predeceased by his mother Maisey Inder, father Fred Verge, brother Verdon Locke, Oscar Locke, and Elmo Verge.
A Funeral Service will be held on Monday, June 24, 2019, at 11:00am, at Oliver’s Funeral Home in Grande Prairie (10005 107 Ave.). A Viewing will be held prior at 10:00am.
