Keith Lumsden, resident of Grande Prairie, AB, passed away on Monday, October 14, 2019 at the age of 76 years.
Keith was born May 8, 1943 in Minnedosa, MB. He was educated in Brandon, MB where he met and married his wife, Linda in 1962. They moved to Saskatoon, SK in 1965 and Keith worked for PCA. In 1970, he was offered a job at Kaiser Resources and he moved his family to Fernie, BC, where they raised their three children. Keith and Linda eventually retired in the Okanagan. In 2017, they moved to Grande Prairie to be closer to family.
Keith was “One of the good guys!” The best Husband, Dad, THE BEST grandfather and great-grandfather. He was inspiring, kind, considerate, positive, a mentor, funny, supportive, a team player, and good friend. He was always willing to lend a hand, a dedicated volunteer for seniors, strong advocate for those living with kidney disease, and an educator on importance of organ donation and transplantation.
His hobbies included hunting, hockey, baseball, curling, golfing, camping, woodworking, and cooking. He coached minor hockey in Fernie and loved watching sports especially the Bombers and Canucks!
Keith will be sadly missed by his wife Linda; children: Rick Lumsden (Tessa), Sherry Lumsden, and Lori Peterson (Glen); grandchildren: Joselyn Peterson, Taylor Peterson, Madilyn Preduk, and Barbra Preduk; and great-grandchildren: Ariana Lavoie, and Skylar Lavoie.
He was predeceased by his grandparents Mervyn and Mary Evans, parents William and Amy Lumsden, brother John Lumsden, sister Mary Addison, in-laws Carmen and Kathaleen Smith, brother in-law Darryl Smith, and many good friends.
A Celebration of Life will be announced at a later date.
Memorial donations may be made to The Kidney Foundation of Canada (202, 11227 Jasper Ave., Edmonton, AB, T5K 0L5).
