April 17, 1931 – April 25, 2025
Margaret Pfau, aged 94, passed away peacefully on April 25, 2025. Born on April 17, 1931, Margaret grew up in the Goodfare area and went on to build a full and loving life with her husband, Ed Pfau. Together, they homesteaded and raised their family near Hythe, Alberta.
Margaret was a remarkably hard worker and deeply ambitious. Whether she was cooking in remote work camps or working tirelessly in the fields, she did it all with determination and pride. She embraced the challenges of farm life with strength and grace, and her work ethic was admired by all who knew her.
After Ed’s passing, Margaret found love again and remarried Bill Sterr. The two shared many happy years together, enjoying a well-earned retirement filled with travel, laughter, and companionship. They especially loved spending winters in Arizona and made many wonderful memories during that time.
Margaret’s greatest joy in life was her family. She was a devoted wife, mother to Linda Macaulay (husband Terry Macaulay) and Dennis Pfau (wife Vivian), cherished grandmother to Terra-Lynn Cairns (husband Dallas Cairns), the late Troy Macaulay, Symon Pfau, and Brianne Edgar (husband Lowell Edgar), and proud great-grandmother to Madison, Allorra, Callin, Eloise, Sully, Shea, and Sammy. Known for her kindness, generosity, and vibrant spirit, Margaret brought warmth and laughter wherever she went.
She was an absolutely beautiful soul who touched everyone she met and lived an amazing life that will be remembered always.
