Winnie “Pooh Bear” McLean, resident of Grande Prairie, AB, formerly of Manning, AB, passed away peacefully at home on Sunday, January 31, 2021, at the age of 77 years.
Winnie was born in Battle River, AB, and raised on a farm near North Star, AB. She was the youngest of eleven children.
She moved to Grande Prairie in 1971, as a single mother with four children in tow. She was a hard-working woman who was utterly devoted to her four children. She worked at various places while living in Grande Prairie over the years. She retired from Liquidation World, where she accumulated so many wonderful friends through co-workers and customers. She was always the social butterfly and enjoyed making new friends. Whenever she ran into her friends, she had to break out her camera to have pictures of all the beautiful people in her life. She loved live music, dancing was her passion and playing bingo.
She will be sadly missed by her children: Mel, Mimi, Dwayne and Donna; loving grandchildren: Brittany, Samuel, Jayden, Celeste, Danielle, Adam, Brennon and Chelsey; and great-grandchildren: Adriana, Kaleb and Gabriella.
Winnie was predeceased by her mother and father Genivieve and Andrew Kobza; nine of her siblings: Elizabeth, Joe, Leslie, Trixie, Tony, Bill, Betty, Frankie and Emmie.
The family would like to thank Dr. James Pope for his kindness, care and compassion.
As per Winnie’s request, there will be no service.
