It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Robert “Bob” Mulligan. Bob, a lifetime resident of Beaverlodge, AB passed away peacefully in the comfort of his home with his family by his side on Wednesday, November 21, 2018, at the age of 90 years.
Bob was born in the Hayfield District on May 20, 1928 and it’s in this area where he had the joy of spending his entire life.
He shared 49 of those treasured years married to his soulmate Jeannette Camplair. Together they raised five children: Gail (Rick Quinn) Mulligan, Dale Mulligan, Alice (Larry) Britton, Bruce (Arlene) Mulligan and James (Tammy) Mulligan. He had 11 grandchildren and 21 great-grandchildren.
Bob had a deep love for his sweet little dog Molly and he enjoyed spending his time with family and friends.
Bob enjoyed playing many instruments including the accordion, fiddle, organ and harmonica. He was an avid dancer and canasta player. He took pride in his home and glorious garden. He had a great sense of humour and loved to make people laugh.
A hard worker all his life, he believed in giving more then you take. Over the years he was a thresher with his own crew, a sawyer, cat-skinner and farmer. He actively farmed right up until his last years.
Bob was predeceased by his wife Jeannette, parents Jim and Annie Mulligan, and brothers Bill and Roy.
A Memorial Service will be held on Thursday, November 29, 2018, at 11:00am, at Beaverlodge United Church (403 10 St.).
Memorial donations may be made to Beaverlodge Hospital Foundation (Box 480, Beaverlodge, AB, T0H 0C0) or to Bandaged Paws Animal Rescue Association (8618 91 St., Grande Prairie, AB, T8X 1V6).
