June 28, 1942 – June 18, 2020

Ron passed away peacefully on the morning of June 18, 2020 in Valleyview, Alberta after years of battling Alzheimer’s.

Ron was born in Regina and attended school at St. Joseph Colony, Saskatchewan.  Ron was a father to 9 children, through his first marriage Ron had 3 children, Kirk, Myrna, and Theresa, through his second marriage he had 3 children Trina, Rhonda, and Dean, and through his third marriage to Sandra he inherited 3 step-children Jalryna, Neil, and Dana.

Ron was always a cowboy at heart. He loved working on the farm, patching fences, checking cows, and working with the horses. He worked many years in the oilfield and of course, making those wild and crazy stories we have all come to love and shake our heads at each time they are told.

He married Sandra in 1987 and they moved to Tomahawk AB where Ron worked at Pelican Mills, which later became Weyerhaeuser. When he retired, they moved back to Saskatchewan where he kept busy with odd jobs. In 2015 they moved back to Alberta, where Ron enjoyed heading out to the farm by Beaverlodge to help with calving, branding, and watching the ‘boys’.

Ron never lost his stubbornness, sense of humour, or strong work ethic. He is probably somewhere right now tightening the barbed wire on a loose fence and watching the horses run.

Ron is survived by his wife Sandra, his children Jae, Neil, Dean, and Dana, granddaughter Taylor, brothers Marty and Ken, as well as his sister Gail.

He was predeceased by his sister Marge, his parents Nick and Grace, and his daughter Rhonda.

As per Ron’s request there will be no funeral. A gathering of friends and family will take place at a later date.

I could not stay another day

To laugh, to love, to work or play.

Tasks left undone must stay that way

I’ve now found peace at the end of the day.
