Patricia (Pat) O'Toole

September 25, 1934 – August 21, 2021

Patricia (Pat) O’Toole passed away peacefully with her family by her side on Saturday, August 21, 2021 at the age of 86 years.  Pat was born on September 25, 1934 in Crows Nest Lake, Alberta.  She was the eldest in the family and big sister to three sisters, Shirley, Joan and Gladys, as well as a brother, John, who passed away at 3 months.  The Crows Nest Pass was always in Pat’s heart and she enjoyed visiting there with her family in later years.

Pat moved to Calgary in 1952 and completed her training as a Nurse’s Aide.  She was very proud of this accomplishment and spoke fondly of her classmates, some of whom she kept in contact with for many years.  It was in Calgary where she met her dear Bill and they were married in 1955.

Pat and Bill moved to Grande Prairie in 1956 and welcomed their first son, Jack.  In 1957 they once again moved to Dawson Creek, where their second son, Garry was born.  The next move was to Prince George where Kevin and Maureen were born.  There last, and final move, was back to Grande Prairie, where they lived happily for over 50 years.

Pat was a wonderful homemaker.  She loved cooking, baking and canning.  She treasured  her home and spent many happy years raising her four children.

Pat loved to travel.  One memorable trip was a cross Canada trip with Bill in their motorhome.

Pat is lovingly remembered by her children, Jack (Rita) O’Toole, Garry (Penny) O’Toole, Kevin (Cathy) O’Toole and Maureen (Robert) Lange, eleven grandchildren: Sean (Megan) O’Toole, (Brea and Murphy), Ryan (Melanie) O’Toole (Emma and Hallie), Ashley O’Toole (Jeremy), Colleen O’Toole, Keegan O’Toole, Nicole (Matthew) Monnette (Hailey, Chloe and Brooklyn), Alison O’Toole (Darrell Hiscock) (Michael, Camryn, Kenzie), Stephen O’Toole (Megan) (Kevin, Wyatt, Rylynn, Jackson), Amanda (William) Barkwell (George, Avery, Isaac), Andrew Lange and Dailey Lange (Samantha).

We were so blessed to have had such a wonderful mother, grandmother and great-grandmother.

The funeral service will be held on Saturday, August 28th, at 10:00 at Bear Creek Funeral Home in Grande Prairie, Alberta.
