It is with the heaviest of hearts that we sadly announce the sudden passing of our beloved brother, Randy Thomas Marion at the age of 52 on March 10, 2021 at the Queen Elizabeth II Hospital.
Randy was born on December 31, 1968 in Timmins, Ontario. His family moved to Grande Prairie in the early 70’s. He loved to play hockey and watch it with his dad. Growing up, he made numerous friends. He loved to make people laugh and he was always quick with his comedic wit. If he could put a smile on someone’s face, then he had one too, and his smile was contagious.
Randy loved his family more than anything. In his 20’s, he decided to become a painter for Jim and Betty Ann Thompson at Eagle Painting. He worked there for over 10 years, and he would say that they were his adopted family. People would say that he was one of the best and fastest rollermen in Grande Prairie. He took great pride in that accomplishment.
Randy leaves behind to mourn; his sister Diana Marion (Chip Jans); nephews Matthew Rinas (GP), Andrew Rinas (Alyssa) Kelowna BC; niece’s Amy Rinas (GP), Raven Marion (Red Deer AB), Alice Auger (Dawson Creek BC) and their daughters Shanieka Embree, Destiny Smith (100 Mile House BC), Tashina and Tanisha Crossland, Alicia Klimack, and his daughter Hayley Clarissa Brown of Winnipeg Manitoba. He leaves behind his stepdaughters Jessica Whitford and Navarone Auger. He leaves behind his stepfamily Iona Kless, Violet Kent, Heather Rodacker (Wade) (GP), Zinnia Robertson (Australia), Jasmine Hunter (Matt), and Dustin Donnelly (Sexmith AB). He also leaves behind many grandchildren, nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins as well as numerous friends.
Randy is predeceased by his mother Lillian Marion (Vanasse); father Gerry Marion (Dorice); brother Bobby Marion; uncles Andre Marion (Drew) of Grande Prairie AB, John, Giles, Ronald, and Maurice Marion of Ontario; aunts Monique (Barth) and Rachel (Law) of Ontario; as well as his cousin Lori-Ann Auger of Grande Prairie AB.
