Ruth Marie Schultz

Ruth Marie Schultz (Baerg) of Grande Prairie, AB formerly of Dalmeny SK. went to be with her Savior on August 30, 2024, at the Grande Prairie Care Centre at the age of 91 years.
Ruth was born in Hepburn SK on February 3,1933 and grew up on the family farm of Henry and Sara Baerg near Dalmeny where she completed her schooling. Not long after graduation she met and married Elmer Schultz and became a farm wife, raising a family. In 1968, the Schultz family relocated to farm near Wembley. Ruth was a member of the Grande Prairie Alliance Church from the time she and Elmer moved to the Grande Prairie area until her passing. In addition to all she did on the farm, Ruth was a church pianist, worked in an alterations shop and at the Swanavon Nursing Home. In 1974 the family moved to the city of Grande Prairie where she provided home care, worked in the church kitchen, served Meals on Wheels, cooked at Bear Lake Bible Camp, babysat grandchildren and in her spare time, crocheted, cross-stitched and quilted.
She lived her later years at the Grande Prairie Care Centre where her physical needs could be met and her decline due to dementia could be addressed.
Ruth is survived by her children: Loren (Jeannie) Schultz, Karen (Richard) Wall, Randy (Diane) Schultz and Heather Schultz; grandchildren Jason Wall, Chris (Tiffany) Wall, Aaron Wall, Kenton Schultz (Jodi Peebles), Kurtis Schultz (Tanjeryne Hoffman-Johnson), Ryley (Shalah) Schultz and Cassandra Schultz; great grandchildren: Isabel Wall, Emma-Lynn Wall, Harrison Wall, Benjamin Wall, Noah Wall, Alexis Schultz, Zoey Schultz, Maggie Schultz, Liam Schultz, Jackson Schultz-Hill, Summer Schultz-Hill, sister Veleda Baerg and sister-in-law Carol Baerg.
Ruth was predeceased by Elmer, her husband of 67 years, two infant sons, Howard and Harold, her parents Henry and Sara Baerg, sister Mabel Ratzlaff and brother Cliff Baerg.
Viewing will be held at the Bear creek Funeral Home, 11802 99 Avenue, Grande Prairie, on Monday, September 9, at 9:00 am with a Memorial Service at 10:00. Interment to follow at the Grande Prairie Cemetery (84 Ave. and 112 St.)
Memorial Donations may be made to Bear Lake Bible Camp.
