December 27, 1943 – January 13, 2022

 

Vicky Juzwishin, long time resident of Spirit River, AB, passed away at the Spirit River Hospital on Thursday, January 13, 2022, at the age of 78 years.

 

Vicky was born on December 27, 1943, at her family homestead in Yellow Creek. Vicky was raised on the farm with her brothers Bill and Gary. She graduated high school and worked as a dental assistant in Fairview. Vicky started dating John and they lived in Dawson Creek before moving to Spirit River where they built their first home together. The family soon moved to Devale and began a career in farming. Vicky enjoyed raising her children Jason and Tammy on the farm. She loved working the land with her husband and being a farm wife. Vicky continued to work as a dental assistant in Spirit River for many years as she loved working in her small community. Her greatest joys were her grandchildren Adam, Madison, and Zachariah. She taught them many skills and important lessons, and they all loved spending time with her at the farm. Vicky will always be remembered by her family as being a wonderful host, cook, gardener, curler, card player, and musician. Music was an important part of her life, and those memories will last forever.

 

Vicky is survived by her loving husband of 56 years John Juzwishin, son Jason Juzwishin, daughter Tammy (Rob) Twelvetree, grandchildren Adam, Madison, and Zachariah, Aunt Jean, and several nieces, and nephews, cousins and friends.

 

Vicky is predeceased by her parents Jack and Anne Sadownik, siblings Bill, Gary, and her infant baby sister Mary.

 

A Funeral Service will be held on January 21, 2022, at Centennial Hall, Spirit River at 11 am with a lunch to follow. The Interment will take place at the Russian Greek Orthodox Church in Devale, AB.

 

Current Covid restrictions include wearing masks, and proof of vaccinations as per the Restriction Exemption Program.
